Project Description: Johnson Controls Australia Pty Ltd - Victorian Division, were engaged by Hansen & Yuncken to install the Security & Building Management Systems at the New Adelaide Airport Terminal Building. Expert Data Cabling were invited by JCI to be their cabling partner for the installation of the CCTV, Access Control and BMS Fibre Optic Backbone Systems.
The CCTV system in the major building was installed with Category 6 UTP Cabling with the capability of introducing IP Security in the future.
The CCTV system used in the outlying areas such as Car Parks and Transit routes was installed with OM2 Fibre Optic multi-mode cabling.
The Access Control system was installed with standard Security cabling such as multi-core and Fig 8.
The Security & BMS Systems were cabled with Fibre Optic cabling that was split into multiple sectors. The cabling was designed with Loop in and Loop out cable routes terminating BMS Equipment from and back to the Main Communications Centre to assure redundancy if a link was accidentally broken. EDC were also engaged to assist JCI with low level commissioning of their systems to assure the project was delivered within agreed Project Schedules.
Expert Data Cabling HR on site were Project Management, Site Supervisor and several Team Leaders who controlled up to 12 installers during the project. EDC procured all cabling for the project and managed the timely delivery of materials to align with Project Time Frames and important milestones. EDC were an integral partner that offered JCI a seamless integration of a local & professional South Australian labour force with their interstate Project Management Team and Technical Staff Capabilities.
