Expert Data Cabling employs over 45 people within South Australia and is made up of five main departments:
- Administration & Financial Services
- Marketing
- Site Installations
- Service Installations
- Optical Fibre Installations
Administration & Financial Services:
The administration staff undertakes numerous duties to ensure the everyday operation runs smoothly. These tasks include accounts payable, record keeping, salaries, manuals and other documentation.
Marketing:
The EDC sales and marketing division currently employs three members who over the past 30 years have gained considerable knowledge and skills within the Communications and Electrical industries. Expert Data Cabling provides all types of customers with professional advice with extensive experience in all types of solutions for Structured Cabling Systems (LAN, WAN), Optical Fibre, Voice applications, Switches, Routers and various Electrical installations.
Site Installations:
Expert Data Cabling have teams of specialised tradesman who can perform Construction type projects. A site supervisor, who reports directly to the client/contractor, leads the team. All projects are controlled via computerised Project Management systems which ensures total control of all projects is maintained at all times.
Service Installations:
Each service vehicle is fully equipped with the latest technology in testing and installation equipment. All installation personnel are fully trained and qualified in their field of expertise. Every installation is certified with an ACMA (AUSTEL/ACA) and/or Electrical COC certificate.
Optical Fibre Installations:
Expert Data Cabling specialises in the installation and termination of Single-mode and Multi-mode Optical Fibre. EDC currently have four self contained Optical Fibre Termination Units. These vehicles are specifically set up for terminating dark or live Optical Fibre within the street environment either during normal or after hours. EDC utilises Fujikura Fusion Splicer's, Noyes OTDR's, mobile generators and Kingfisher Light Source and Power meter.
Occupational Health and Safety:
Expert Data Cabling are very serious about Occupational Health Safety and Welfare and control the risks for our clients and staff by following basic concepts such as:
- Implementing an active and evolving OHS&W Policy & Program
- Basic Industry Green Card Training Course
- Ongoing internal assessment, employee training & inductions
- Unique OHS&W training & requirements of our Customers
